Too Good To Be True

Oh, man. This would be absolutely fantastic:

"As speculation about Mike D'Antoni's job security has increased the last few days, this is what we've heard from Suns owner Robert Sarver and general manager Steve Kerr: Nothing. They haven't rushed to D'Antoni's defense or offered assurances that he'll return next year. ... And there have been whispers within the organization that D'Antoni has been out-coached by San Antonio's Gregg Popovich. All of which means one thing: Tonight's Game 5 against the Spurs may be D'Antoni's final act as the Suns coach."

Please. Please. Please. I've been claiming for ages that, with their personnel, the Bulls could emulate a 2005-2007 Suns-type team. And though admittedly, yes, Kirk Hinrich is no Steve Nash, I still think an uptempo style of play is exactly what this team needs. I haven't given much of a crap about the Bulls' coaching search, because all the options out there strike me as pretty middling. But Mike D'Antoni would change all that.

What the hell are you talking about?

Your going to bring in a coach that doesn't have a thought about defense?

For a team thats biggest problem was..... defense?

Thats all we could hope fo,r a coach that can't get it done against the Spurs and throws fits everytime a call goes against him?

The Bulls are nothing like the Suns and why would you wana be the Suns?

Moron!

Yeah, why on earth would I desire a coach whose teams have averaged 57 wins (in the tougher conference) over the past four years, who seems to get along swimmingly with most of his players, and whose style of play is immensely entertaining to boot?

But Van Gundy, Carlisle or Thibodeau would bring: D-Fence (clap, clap)! D-Fence (clap, clap)!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Dude.

How can you not like D'Antoni as coach.

I don't agree that's he doesn't have a thought about D. You're confusing a few limited defensive players with lack of team defensive fundamentals.

If he's such a great coach why is he being fired?

I'm not saying he's not a great coach but I don't think he fits with the Bulls organizational views are on D win titles.

Kerr has said they don't practice defense enough.

The fact that he couldn't win with all that talent would scare me off.

I guess I just don't like him because he cries alot during TO's.

I think he gets too emotional and wrapped up in the foul calls.

You could see that in game 5 when the Suns had controled the game and when the Spurs made their run like everyone knew they would he called a quick TO and lost his mind.

Not only does he flip out alot he only players 7 players. I hate that.

Avery Johnson has been fired!

Plus D'Antoni was the biggest suporter of the Shaq trade!

Avery over D'Antoni strikes me as lunacy. Outside of 2006, what have the Mavs done, besides underachieve in the Playoffs? D'Antoni's much-maligned playoff success is shining compared to Avery's. (There's no shame in regularly losing to San Antonio.)

Meanwhile, the Mavs' style of play under Avery was slow and dull, and he appears to be a control freak who drives his point guards batty. Not much of a change of departure from the culture of Skiles.

Dude I guess I don't care who the coach is as long as they land Rose in the Draft.
