I'd only make that trade including Sefolosha if the management promised to go after Baron Davis as hard as possible with the cap room they save. This might also require the trading of Hinrich. I'd be cool with that.
Meh. Davis has only played 60+ games twice since 2001-02. He's a good player, but hardly a wise investment.
As far as players who will become free agents that are highly unlikely to change uni's go, you're better off hoping for Arenas.
Could we throw in Hinrich for another expiring contract and some Jay-Z mixtapes or something? A signed Frank Gehry blueprint? Seriously, although Thabo's liable to have a very solid second half of the season, a deal like this is tough to pass up.
I thought Golden State was refusing to re-sign Davis... And, yeah, Baron's injury-prone and getting old, but man is he fun to watch. (He can also throw an alley-oop pass, a valuable tool in the skill set of a point guard on a team with Tyrus Thomas.)
I haven't been following the Davis-Warriors contract situation, but I have a tough time believing there's a better fit for either party.
The Warriors aren't cheap, the fans absolutely love Davis, and he's the key to their system.
Davis is only going to be a free agent if he opts out of a nearly $18m player option for next season. Tough to see that happening no matter how much he whines about not getting an extension (which I expect he'll get)

Andres Nocioni and second-year guard Thabo Sefolosha to the Nets for Bostjan Nachbar, Marcus Williams, Antoine Wright and Jamaal Magloire.
I know three of those guys are expirers, but they’re shooting 39%,39%,28%, and 29% from the floor. A layup contest with Magloire and B. Wallace could be a fun timeout competition I guess, but shouldn’t the Bulls try to get a guy(s) who can score?
Unless there's a specific target to go after in free agency, I'd keep these guys and trade for somebody good.
Do people not like Noce? I know he's a chucker, but he plays like he wants to win, unlike say, our highest paid player.
I had an email exchange with Sam Smith at the end of last season re: trading Noc for a real power forward, and he crapped all over the floppy, gritty chucker's trade value.
I think expiring contracts and a not-so-good prospect is pretty much as good as it gets for a Noc-centric deal.
Maggette will be a free agent this summer.
Do you think Maggette's a 2? I can see the argument for a larger guard there, but I don't really see him as a noticeable upgrade over Deng at the 3, although I suppose he does get to the line pretty often. Inconsistent as Gordon and Deng have been at times this year, though, I still think our main problems this year have been the point and center positions. Not much at either in FA next year, I fear, although if we can just get rid of Wallace's minute-hogging, I think Noah can at least be serviceable.
I believe Davis in 28 but he is injury prone. I would hate to dump Noce for the stiffs the Nets are offering unless the expiring contracts help us get a stud
Maggette would play guard. The end of tiny ball, hopefully.
I know this comes late w/ Kirk's breakout, but I think PG and C are fine. Noah at 32-35 mpg and Gray at 13-16 mpg is fine for me for the future. Just make sure Tyrus is on the floor w/ Gray unless the match-up is right.
If Kirk can return to form, then the pg position is fine. The problem is a Kirk/ Gordon backcourt. Too small defensively and no one to drive in the half-court set and get to the line or finish at the rim. That's the value of Noce on the floor; somehow he can drive the ball, but Deng can't. If Deng wants big money he's
got to hit 3's or sometimes drive
off a ball fake from 18 feet.
A Kirk, Gordon, Deng lineup all too often fails to get a good shot when in crunch time. I think this year has exposed Gordon as someone who will get hot at times(too few times this year) but isn't a legit go to guy.
I think we can firmly say that we're not making it past the first round of the playoffs this year so let's try some wacky stuff, like
Gordon, Sefo, Noce, Ty, Noah for now. Can Sefo run the offense?
